With the Thanksgiving holiday right around the corner, we had to share one of our traditional Thanksgiving recipes with you! Per Derick’s family’s tradition, we usually mix up a double batch of these sausage balls the night before to bake & enjoy the next morning while we watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade!
Makes about 2 dozen sausage balls
Ingredients:
1 pound sharp cheddar cheese (grated)*
3 cups Bisquick**
1 pound sausage
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Shred cheddar cheese. Toss shredded cheese with Bisquick to prevent cheese from clumping. Work sausage into the mix. Form into 1.5 inch balls (about ping-pong ball size). Bake on a cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until sausage is fully cooked and balls are slighty browned.
Note: If refrigerating dough balls overnight prior to baking the next morning, let sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before baking.
*You must grate the cheese yourself. Pre-shredded cheese will not work since it is covered in a powder that keeps everything from sticking together.
**Other pancake or biscuit mixes will work too, but they might not give the exact same consistency.

This sounds really good. I wonder if the gluten-free version of Bisquick will work just as well.
