Party Potatoes

This super easy mashed potatoes recipe is one that my family got from some friends of ours several years back. We’d always eat these potatoes as a side with beef brisket.

5 lbs. potatoes (peel if desired)

1 (24oz.) sour cream

2 pkgs. onion soup mix

1 pkg. (8oz.) cream cheese, softened

Scrub (or peel), rinse and dice potatoes. Boil till soft (about 20 min.). Mash potatoes with all ingredients. Enjoy!

Note: can be served hot (mashed potatoes) or cold (potato salad).

  1. Derick & Jill, please feel free to delete this question if it’s too personal. Do you think you guys will ever do a blog post detailing Samuel’s birth story? Many of us Duggar fans had been anticipating seeing his birth on Counting On, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. We’d all like to know more about the story surrounding Samuel’s birth if you’re willing to share! <3

  2. Hi was just wondering if you would still mash these potatoes if you we going to eat them cold or would you leave them a little chunky? And these sound really good bu the way.

  3. Thank you Jill for another delicious recipe. Also I’m inspired to try again to make homemade pie crusts after having a sliver of apple pie and peach pies tonight made with homemade pie crusts.
