Baked potatoes are delicious, but sometimes you’d rather throw them in the slow cooker and not have to worry about them while you’re gone.
10 or so small/medium potatoes
olive oil (if desired)
garlic salt (if desired)
Scrub and rinse potatoes. Poke several times with fork. Rub outside of potato with olive oil (or leave plain) and sprinkle with garlic salt (optional). Wrap in aluminum foil. “Bake” in slow cooker for 8 hrs on low or 5 hrs on high (or until tender…depends on the size of your potatoes!).

This is perfect for the summer when you don’t want to heat up the house or use the microwave. Thank you Jill for posting this.
Thanks. Yes, good point. When we were in Central America, my oven wasn’t insulated like the ones here so I looked for every way I could to not heat up the house!
I love crockpot cooking. Here in Texas the last thing we want to do in the summer is turn the oven on! How about an Instapot Jill? Have you all invested in one? I don’t use mine too much but true story, I forgot to plug my crockpot in one morning and when afternoon rolled around I realized dinner wasn’t going to be ready so I transferred the food over and viola, dinner on the table on time!’
Blessings ya’ll
Johnna
Hey Johnna, That’s great! No, I don’t have an Instapot, but I’ve heard my friends talk about how much they love theirs.
I live in the High Desert of California and I am always trying to find ways to not have to cook on stove or in the oven in the heat. This recipe is a lifesaver. Thank you so much for sharing.
