Easy Biscuits

This recipe was given to me at my bridal shower by a sweet mama friend of mine. These biscuits are so easy and quick to throw together that my kiddos love making them!

Makes one dozen biscuits

1 egg

3 c. flour

5 t. baking powder

1/2 t. baking soda

1 t. salt

3/4 c. butter

3/4 c. milk

1 T. honey

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly beat egg. Sift dry ingredients. Cut in butter. Stir in milk, honey & egg to form dough. Turn out onto floured counter. Pat into 1″ thickness. Dip 3″ biscuit cutter (or use a drinking glass of similar size!) in flour & cut out biscuits. Let rest for 2 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes until tops are golden.

  1. If you are cutting in butter, should it be cold when we do so? I remember Dad used cold butter when he cut in for pie crusts.
