Dillards Take The Oregon Trail: Day 10

We’ve been meaning to get the last couple of vacation videos out to y’all but have had a lot going on, so we’re finally getting to it! Here is the video of our 10th day of our trip to Oregon! If you missed the first several videos, be sure and check them out here on our blog or on our YouTube channel!

We road tripped from Arkansas to Oregon (less than 100 miles difference in distance than the actual, historic Oregon Trail)! It took us 3 days to get there (much better than the 4 months or so the pioneers had to endure)! Once in Oregon, we visited lots of friends and saw many places, from Portland to the Seaside & Newport coasts, including Astoria, Eugene and Bend! Then we made the 3 day trek back home, stopping on the way to see some of the actual wagon tracks left by those who took the original Oregon Trail many years ago!

This video captures day 10 of our trip! It’s our second day of travel back home to Arkansas from Oregon. After staying the night at the quaint Oregon Trail Motel in Buhl, Idaho, we pack up and hit the road for a long day of travel to North Platte, Nebraska! We leave Idaho and pass through Utah and Wyoming before arriving in Nebraska. About an hour outside of North Platte (in Big Springs, NE), we stop just off the interstate to see “California Hill,” a cool, historic spot where we see actual wagon tracks left by those who took the original Oregon Trail many years ago! It’s a super late night, but we finally make it to our motel in North Platte, NE for a little rest before our final day of travel the next day. More videos coming soon!
