The Boys Get A Bunkbed!

The boys small room was pretty crowded with two beds, a rocking chair and a dresser, so we had planned to rearrange soon. We kept an eye out for bunkbeds on Facebook Marketplace and made some room by selling the chair. The boys knew they would be getting bunkbeds soon and were very excited. After looking for several weeks, we found a bunkbed we liked and were able to haul it home! It was well used and didn’t include directions so it took several hours of scrubbing it down and all to finally get it put together. (See video below.)

Note, this was from before coronavirus came to our area.

Bunk beds are perfect for boys and perfect for small/shared spaces! My boys have had bunk beds since they were 4 and 5 years old.

I slept in a bunk bed I am the oldest now 66. My younger sister was on the bottom and she would push with feet my mattress.

My boys loved their bunk beds and slept in them for many years. When they got too big to sleep in the top bunk, I just took them apart and had them use them side by side. We really got our money out of that set of bunk beds. I hope your boys love them as much as mine did. And, you got them for a fantastic price!!! Congrats!

Bunk beds kind of scare me! When I was a kid my older brother slept on the top bunk and I tried climbing the ladder one time. The ladder wasn’t the attached kind, it just leaned against the bed, and it tipped backwards with me still climbing it! Talk about being traumatized!! I’ve hated ladders ever since! Make sure the boys know to be safe when going up and down off the top bunk.

We just got the same bunk beds in black, my girls love them! My 13 year old calls the top her “loft” and my 8 year old tucks blankets as curtains around before she goes to sleep. They both feel so special in their beds 🙂

My boys are a lot older now, and we’ve since moved into a bigger home, but I loved when we got bunk beds! We actually got “loft” bunk beds that have a dresser, desk and book shelves built into them. Their bedroom was so tiny, it was so nice to save room. Over the years my boys would do different things with them, like make forts, add little cool-to-the-touch LED lights above the bottom bed, and we found a cool fort tent thing to go over the top bunk that they loved too! Only downside was by younger boy was adventurous and loved to hang off the bed or jump off it. No broken bones though
