Kale Chips

Kale Chips

Some of my sisters started making these a few years ago and they continue to be a tasty snack that we love to make.

Ingredients:

8 cups kale, cut into bite sized pieces and cut off large stems

1/4 cup olive oil

salt

Directions:

Add kale and olive oil to bowl. Sprinkle with salt. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 min. Enjoy!

(note: this picture was taken just before the kale was baked…it will have a darker look once baked.)

Thank you Jill. I think kale is an acquired taste. I used to grow kale when we lived in CA. I really liked kale and this recipe sounds good. It is cheaper than buying the ones sold at Trader Joes.

I make them as well. I add nutritional yeast after baking for a nutrition punch and cheesy-flavor. I also remove the stems because they are so hard to eat and digest when they are left on. I place all the stems in my vegetable freezer scrap bag to make vegetable or chicken stock when its full.

Thanks for the recipe. It was the first time I’ve made anything with kale and the chips turned out great. I did cook them for 15 minutes. My husband loved them.

Love Kale chips! Try sprinkling lots of Nutritional Yeast on them for a cheesy and healthy burst of flavor.
