Dillard Family Update—February 2018
Thank y’all so much for your prayers and support! With your help we have reached our Cross Church School of Ministry fundraising goal!! Thank YOU for your help!
We are a little over halfway through the one-year program and have really enjoyed working with international students. As new Cross Church School of Ministry (CCSM) students are joining the team, we will now be transitioning into a slightly different missions role in CCSM at another Cross Church campus. This will allow Derick to focus more on the additional seminary hours he would like to complete, as well as provide a look at other ministry aspects before our term ends.
In the past couple months, we have had many wonderful opportunities to minister in our local area. We hosted a table at a “hot pot” event on the University of Arkansas campus and were able to connect with several students who had just arrived to the states hours before. Derick helped organize a last-minute international Christmas party at the College pastor’s home and we had an amazing turnout: thirteen countries were represented! We look forward to going on a couple more missions trips in the next few months to Mexico and Colorado.
Please pray with us as we continue to look for ways to share the hope of Jesus with others and work with CCSM!
Praise and Prayer Requests:
- Praise the Lord for new connections with students on campus and the chance to “live life” with many of them!
- Pray for our friends back in Central America, and specifically a friend whose relative was murdered a few weeks ago.
- Pray for God’s direction for us as we pray about our future plans for our family after CCSM.
—The Dillard Family
Jill, I started to know your family through TV. The very first shows. They were about a family, that were Christians. Intriguing to me, love babies all my life. I felt a little connection to you, because I could tell you loved babies and the moms also. I’m much older than you. Tom an I met through church. (Central Baptist Church, in H’burg, Ms.) we married 26 years ago, had 1 beautiful daughter, 25 yrs old now. Due to health issues we did not have any more children. I still love babies, and moms. I retired from my nursing career early, due to health issues, I was a oncology nurse for 11 1/2 yrs. I was a little lost at first after that experience. However, God always has a plan. Like I said I love all of your family. But I’ve had this tugging in my heart for you. So I began to be interested in encouraging others (in full time service) I make cards and other little crafts. I try to encourage my pastors wife and other ladies in full time service. So I’d love to be able to be a encouragement and blessing to you, and the older girls, your mom also. Just send a note or a little happy, occasionally. (Happy- a gift) So I know you probably get thousands of messages even if you have a PO Box, I could send it to. It would be a absolute honor to have a very small part of you guys work for the Lord. I would send a letter, tell my whole testimony. You could see I don’t want to be on TV, promise you, don’t want to. Just to be a encouragement and blessing to you and the family. Please, I’ve sent so many DM, emails, every thing, for at least 1 1/2yrs. Please!!!
Hey Dana,
That is so sweet of you! Thanks so much for reaching out! I’m glad you were finally able to reach us! Feel free to send anything to my family’s P.O. Box:
